My dog and I met a friendly fox today on our afternoon walk in the state park today. Arti chased her but then I found them both by the lake staring at each other, a bit timidly each, but not overly fearful or threatening of one another. I immediately called Arti to me and leashed her, but the fox hung around, acting almost like a stray puppy. It did not seem hurt and could walk normally. It started poking into some fallen hollow tree trunks. Foxes are potential rabies carriers, so we did not get too close, and although this one was acting a bit strangely (just hanging around) it finally traipsed off. A beautiful little creature.
